William Ordway Partridge. "Samuel Tilden Statue"

American sculptor William Ordway Partridge created this larger than life statue of New York Governor Samuel J. Tiden. The statue of Tiden, who ran for the presidency, was renovated in 2000 thanks to the City Parks Foundation Monuments Conservation Program. Partridge is best remembered for his many bronze statues and busts across the US, but also for his many Thomas Jefferson statues and his Pocahontas statue in Jamestown, Virginia.
