The Amiable Child Monument

The Amiable Child Monument is believed to be the only single-person grave site in city-owned land. The monument holds the remains of a child named St. Claire Pollock who died after falling off a cliff overlooking the Hudson River in 1797. George Pollock believed to be either his father or uncle had this monument built for him and when he sold his property asked the owners to maintain it for him. The monument is located in Riverside Park a few yards away from Grant's Tomb.
