Muralist Louis Delsarte was commissioned by North Fork Bank to create this mosaic which stands at West 125th Street a few steps away from the Apollo Theatre. The mosaic was manufactured by Gabriel and Franz Meyer in Munich and transferred to Harlem. Delsarte is a professor at Morehouse College and has a studio in Manhattan since he is an artist in residence at NYU. More info: Louis Delsarte's website
