FriendsWithYou. "Rainbow City"


Friends With You, whom are artists Arturo Sandoval III and Samuel Borkson presented this interactive exhibition. The exhibition is made up of many balloons  and two trampolines, one in a mushroom shape and the other as a dumpling. This exhibition will be open to the public at select times until July 5, 2011 at the bottom of The High Line on 30th Street and 10th Avenue in Chelsea. More info: Rainbow City's website.

Helaine Soller. "Paintings of Water Environments" Exhibition


American painter Helaine Soller had a painting exhibition titled Painting of Water Environments. The exhibition was located in the lobby of Citigroup Center's Atrium and lasted until the end of June. The lobby is an open public space and open to the public from 7 am to midnight. More info: Helaine Soller's website

Billy Omabegho. "Zuma"




Nigerian sculptor Billy Omabegho created Zuma in 1991, a piece located at 828 2nd Avenue in Manhattan in front of the Nigerian House, that symbolizes rebirth and renewal through its chain like form that represents as a snake. There has been controversy as if thought this sculpture should be removed.

Urs Fischer. "Untitled (Lamp/Bear)"


Swiss sculptor Urs Fischer created this gigantic sculpture of a teddy bear lamp which was sold by Chritie's for $6,802,500 during its' Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale on May 11. The sculpture will be on view outside the Seagram Building at 375 Park Avenue for a 5-month period culminating on September 2011.

Louise Nevelson. "Shadows and Flags"



Legendary sculptor Louise Nevelson has a plaza named after her in the Financial District of Manhattan. The Louise Nevelson Plaza was recently renovated in 2009 and so were the immense sculptures permanently installed there titled Shadows and Flags. Ms. Nevelson was also an assistant to Frida Kahlo's husband famous muralist and painter Diego Rivera, and lived most of her life in New York City.

Tom Otterness. "The Real World"


My favorite sculptor Tom Otterness has a series of sculptures titled The Real World. These sculptures are permanently installed in Nelson. A Rockefeller Park since 1992. These are just some of his many sculptures in this park. More info: Tom Otterness' website

Arnaldo Pomodoro. "Exterior Cross"


Famous Italian sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro, who has many pieces spread throughout NYC, created this peculiar cross sculpture outside Saint Peter's Church next door to the CITI Group Building. Robert Cook. "Dinoceras"


Distinguished sculptor Robert Cook created this sculpture that is permanently on view outside of 345 Park Avenue. The sculpture recently went through renovation after having been installed in 1971. More info: Robert Cook's website

David LaChapelle. "From Darkness to Light" Exhibition


Famous Surrealist photographer David LaChapelle presented his exhibit From Darkness to Light at Lever House. The exhibition ran from June 2 until September 2, 2011 and was made possible by Lever House. Various pieces were presented such as the ones seen here

Matt Sheridan Smith. "Soft Futures (price has no memory)"


Contemporary artist Matt Sheridan Smith created this fun balloon sculpture representing commodities traded on the international futures market that are on display at MetroTech Commons Center. This balloon sculpture is part of the exhibit called Total Recall that runs from November 3, 2010 until October 14, 2011. The sculpture was made possible thanks to the Public Art Fund. Julien Marinetti. "Doggy John"


Julien Marinetti created this outstanding sculpture of a very colorful dog that stands in the world renowned courtyard of the New York Palace guarding the gates before the entrance to the Madison Room. Jon Krawczyk. Untitled NJ Devils Sculpture

Liu Shih. "Confucius"



Liu Shih created the most recognizable symbol of Chinatown which is this Confucius statue. It permanently stands in its own plaza named Confucius Plaza for the apartment building behind it. It faces Chatham Square or Kimalau Square where the Lin Zexu statue is located.
