Legendary sculptor Louise Nevelson has a plaza named after her in the Financial District of Manhattan. The Louise Nevelson Plaza was recently renovated in 2009 and so were the immense sculptures permanently installed there titled Shadows and Flags. Ms. Nevelson was also an assistant to Frida Kahlo's husband famous muralist and painter Diego Rivera, and lived most of her life in New York City.
