H. Van Buren Magonigle & Attilio Piccirilli. "Firemen's Memorial"
American architect H. Van Buren Magonigle and Italian-born American sculptor Attilio Piccirilli created the Firemen's Memorial that stands in Riverside Park. Magonigle designed the memorial and Piccirilli created the statues alongside the memorial. The memorial includes a bronze relied and a fountain where a face pours water from its mouth. Magonigle is best remembered for his monumental memorials that include Liberty Memorial and McKinley Memorial. Piccirilli worked with the Piccirilli Brothers and personally created many spectacular memorials such as the Maine Memorial and also the facade of the Brooklyn Museum.
