Branly Cadet. "Higher Ground: Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Memorial"
Sculptor Branly Cadet created the memorial to Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. that stands in a plaza named after Powell. The plaza also includes a federal building with Powell's name as well as being located on Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard. Powell was a congressman who represented Harlem from 1945 until 1970 as well as a civil rights activist. Cader is a descendent of Haitian metal artist Georges Liautaud.
