Chinese architect Liang Sicheng created this obelisk as a monument to the Chinese people for their struggle during the revolution period of this country. The obelisk constructed of marble and granite stands at 37.94 meters in height and weighing 10,000 metric tons. The sides of the monument cover the major revolutionary episodes and feature Mao Zedong's own handwriting.
