Kristin Jones & Andrew Ginzel. "Metronome"
The American artist team of Kristin Jones & Andrew Ginzel created this art installation which leaves many tourists amazed by what it is counting down, why smoke comes out from the orb of the wand, and basically what is the meaning of it. Metronome was commissioned by Related Companies with the help of Public Art Fund and the Municipal Art Society. The art installation is made of many pieces. First is the clock which shows the time in 24 hour format in the first six slots on the left with the other time slots starting from the right show also in 24 hour format how much more time there will be left before the day is over in reverse format. Second is the infinity and the source which is the wand like object and the golden aura where smoke comes out of. Third is the relic which consists of a hand at the top. This hand is a replica of the hand of the Equestrian George Washington sculpture located in front of it. More info: Jones & Ginzel's joint website
