American sculptor Valerie Clarebout created the angel sculptures which light up and adorn the Channel Gardens and Promenade of Rockefeller Center. These angels are always exhibited during the holiday time in the same location. Many people believe the angels to be part of the usual decoration, which they are, but have no idea that these angels are actually private sculptures that were commissioned and installed for the first time in 1954.
