Karl Illava. "107th Infantry Memorial"

WWI American Sergeant Karl Illava sculpted this memorial of the infantry, in which he served, that stands on Central Park's east side. This sculpture is a memorial to those who served in the 107th infantry of the seventh regiment. It is not to be confused by the sculpture which serves as a memorial to the seventh regiment by John Quincy Adams Ward.  The men who survived and returned home from this infantry where all awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
