Berlin based artist Michael Sailstorfer created this sculpture, which is his first US public commission. The sculpture is the largest in of his sculpture series based on rubber tires, inner tubes and the ideas of movement and velocity. The sculpture stands at 30 feet in the east entrance to Central Park on Doris C. Freedman Plaza. The sculpture has been made possible by the Public Art Fund and the NYC Dept. of Parks & Recreation and will be exhibited until February 19, 2012. More info: Michael Sailstorfer's website
