Prominent Brooklyn sculptor Neil Estern created this sculpture of Mayor Fiorello La Guardia that is permanently installed nearby the NYU Campus. The Friends of La Guardia Place raised the funds and selected Estern's design for the statue seen here. Ernst has served as the president of the National Sculpture Society and has created statues of several American leaders such as the John F. Kennedy bust in Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn and his most famous work the FDR statue in Washington D.C.
