John Ahearn. "Bronx Residents" 3 of 3

Today we conclude the three-part series of the controversial South Bronx sculptures. After much uproar to have the sculptures removed from in front of the newly built police precinct station, the artists himself paid to have his commissioned sculptures removed. He hoped that by removing his sculptures from the South Bronx, the community leaders would settle their complaints and no members of the community would start a riot. Ahearn had his sculptures moved to Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens where they remain to this day. Unfortunately, the sculptures are quickly deteriorating since there is no proper care for them at the park.
