The sculptor of this work and the Douglass statue around the corner at the entrance to the Society is StudioEIS of Brooklyn. This company is also the creator of the statue of Lincoln at the new Gettysburg Battlefield Visitor's Center and the statue of Lincoln at the President's cottage in Washington D.C.
