StudioEIS. "Frederick Douglass Statue"
At the end of last year, The New York Historical Society reopened its doors after a 70 million dollar renovation. As part of the renovation, two statues were unveiled one of them being of Frederick Dogulass. The statue permanently stands at the side entrance of the Historical Society at Central Park West. Lorenzo Pace. "Triumph Of The Human Spirit"
African-American sculptor Lorenzo Pace created this sculpture on commission from Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in 2000 as part of the Percent for Art Program. The sculpture is installed in Foley Square in front of the NYC Courthouses next to Thomas Paine Park and City Hall and has become a meeting point for protests, rallies and an unauthorized skating park. The black granite sculpture stands in the middle of a fountain at a height of 50 feet and is meant to represent the sails of a ship from the slave-trading era. Ling Shan Fat Buddha
In the town of Wuxi, part of Jiangsu Province, in China stands the Lingshan Buddhist Temple. This temple is adorned with several sculptures and among them the most impressive being the Lingshan Buddha. One of the tallest Buddhas in the world. However this picture is of the Fat Buddha. The Fat Buddha is a folk saint in Japan and a symbol of great luck and prosperity in China. The Fat Buddha pictured here is surrounded by playful Buddha babies that have taken him as their playground.

Max Ferguson's Unidentified Oil Painting
Inside FDR Post Office, there is a large oil painting by Max Ferguson that hangs at the entrance of an employees-only hall. The plaque that accompanies the painting next to a Maria Cohen sculpture lists the painting as having been created in 1987. No information was located about this painting elsewhere. Lee Krasner & Ronald Stein's Mosaic Murals
Influential Abstract Expressionist painter Lee Krasner along with her nephew Ronald Stein created these large mosaics that were installed in 1959 in the Uris Brothers Building on 2 Broadway. There are murals on the front and on the back of the building. Lee Krasner is also remember for being the wife of Jackson Pollock the main influence in the Abstract Expressionist Movement. The mosaics are composed of broken Italian glass.
