Daniel Chester French. "Richard Morris Hunt Memorial"

Historic American sculptor Daniel Chester French created this memorial for the iconic nineteenth century American architect Richard Morris Hunt who inspired a new generation of architects. Richard Morris Hunt designed many of the now bulldozed mansions on Fifth Avenue as well as the facade of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Statue of Liberty's pedestal. On the other hand, the sculptor of this memorial, Daniel Chester French, created many historic sculptures most notably the seated Abraham Lincoln at Washington D.C.'s Lincoln Memorial and the Minute Man in Massachusetts. This memorial was also created in part by another prominent architecture, Bruce Price.  The memorial is located on Central Park's East Wall on Fifth Avenue in front of the Fritz Collection.
