Jim Dine. "Ape & Cat (At The Dance)"


Pop artist Jim Dine created this sculpture that stands hidden behind trees at the east side of the Jewish Holocaust Museum in Wagner Park in Battery Park City. The sculpture was created and installed in 1993. Dine is best remembered for being one of the powerful forces behind Pop art. His sculptures and paintings are internationally exhibited, and he in particular has a fascination with Pinocchio. In Midtown, there is another Jim Dine permanent sculpture titled Looking Toward The Avenue
