George Segal. "Gay Liberation Monument"
Legendary sculptor George Segal created the above sculptures as a commemoration to the events that happened in the Stonewall Inn right behind the sculptures. Those events sparked an uprising of protests and marches based on protecting gay rights. Segal is well known for his white-painted bronze casts made from plaster moulds from human models. Joseph Pollia. "General Philip Henry Sheridan Memorial"
Master sculptor Joseph Pollia created this impressive bronze statue of General Philip Henry Sheridan that is enclosed within these gates in Christopher Street Park. The statue is one of nine statues of civil war generals in the city. Pollia was a well known sculptor of memorials having created many of them with the most notable ones in Forest Park in Queens.

Unidentified Dinosaur Mural at Third Avenue & E13th Street
At the corner of Third Avenue and East 13th Street, there is a mural of a brontosaurus that catches many people off-guard. The dinosaur mural appears in many websites and publications but I have not been able to locate who the creator of Manhattan's Loch Ness monster is.

Sasha Sumner. "Energy/Shrine"
The following mural was part of the live performance of artist Sasha Sumner during the Art in Odd Places 2011. Unfortunately we weren't able to be in attendance at any of the performances but at least we got to see the mural where it all happened.

Unidentified Graffiti Art at Federal Plaza
The graffiti art above is located at a store in front of Federal Plaza at the corner of Thomas Street and Broadway. No more information was found.

Unidentified Mermaid Mural at Fulton Plaza
The mural above of a mermaid and a merman is located at Fulton Plaza in 20 Water Street in the Financial District in front of Southstreet Seaport. We have no information on the creator of the mural.

Joel Shapiro. "Untitled"
American sculptor Joel Shapiro created this sculpture that stands outside of 124 Warren Street. There was no further information available about this sculpture. Recently one of Shapiro's sculptures was sold at Christie's Post-Modernist Art Sale. Shapiro's work are prominently displayed in museums throughout the world including having had an exhibition on the roof of the MET and being part of their permanent collection.

Sidney Simon. "The Four Seasons"
Master sculptor Sidney Simon created this hidden fountain in One Worldwide Plaza in Midtown Manhattan. The hidden fountain can be seen by passerby's at West 50th Street. The fountain is composed of four women representing the seasons holding up the globe. At the base there are also four faces. The women statues were modeled after Molly Ackerman. Kantilal B. Patel. "Mohandas Gandhi Statue"
Artist Kantilal B. Patel created this iconic sculpture of Mohandas K. Gandhi located on the right side of Union Square Park. This sculpture is usually adorned with floral necklaces and wreaths throughout the year. Unfortunately, last year the glasses of the sculpture were stolen but were soon replaced. The sculpture was dedicated on the 117th anniversary of Gandhi's birth and was donated by the Gandhi Memorial International Foundation.

Jesus Bautista Moroles. "Lapstrake"
Renowned granite sculptor Jesus Bautista Moroles created this massive sculpture located in front of the Museum of Modern Art in 31 West 52nd Street Plaza. John Quincy Adams Ward. "Roscoe Conkling Statue"
Historic sculptor John Quincy Adams Ward created this sculpture of New York Senator Roscoe Conkling. Conkling was not only part of the US Senate but also the US House of Representatives. Apparently this might be the only statue of Conkling. Ward is well known for his many sculptures throughout the city and the country including The Pilgrim in Central Park.

Keith Haring. "Untitled (Two Dancing Figures)"
Legendary Pop artist Keith Haring created this piece which is currently installed at 17 State Street next to "Untitled, (Figure Balancing on Dog)" in front of Battery Park in Lower Manhattan. The sculpture has been installed in this location recently and was previously exhibited at Lever House. The sculpture is one of an apparent three sets. More info: Keith Haring's website

Randolph Rogers. "William H. Seward Monument"
American Neoclassical sculptor Randolph Rogers created this sculpture of the 12th Governor of NY William H. Seward installed in the right-side entrance of Madison Square Park. Many of Rogers sculptures are located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. His sculptures are also extend to war monuments.

Polytechnic Institute of NYU's Tau Beta Pi Sculpture
Outside of Polytechnic Institute of New York University stands this sculpture in a small garden. The piece was installed by the Tau Beta Pi, which is the oldest engineering honor society in the United States. This specific one was installed to recognize the honor society of this school. These types of sculptures are present in many universities that have similar honor societies.

Joel Shapiro. "Untitled"
During Christie's Post-War Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, this sculpture by American sculptor Joel Shapiro was auctioned. The sale of this sculpture reached $266,500 and was exhibited outside of Christie's NYC - Rockefeller Center during the Post-War Contemporary Evening Sale. His work consists of rectangular shapes formed into sculptures and his many creations are permanently installed throughout the world.

Sol LeWitt. "Wall Drawing Bands of Lines in Four Colors and Four Directions Separated by Gray Bands"
Famed American artist Sol LeWitt created these limestone wall drawings in the galleria of the AXA Center. The large wall drawings are permanently part of the buildings. Last year, there was a large exhibition titled Structures at City Hall Park displaying the variety of sculptures that LeWitt had created.
